Assoc. Prof. Erhan AKDEMİR

Erhan AKDEMİR received his undergraduate degree from Atılım University, Department of International Relations in 2003. Akdemir, who started his master’s degree in International Relations at Ankara University Social Sciences Institute International Relations Department in 2004, completed his master’s degree in 2006 with his thesis titled “The Role of Think Tanks in the Foreign Policy Formation Process in the USA: A Study Specific to the Middle East”. In 2012, he completed his doctorate in the same university and department with his study titled “The Formation of European Identity and Culture in the Context of Identity and Culture Debates and Its Impact on Turkey-European Union Relations”. Erhan Akdemir carried out some of his doctoral studies at the European Union Center of Warsaw University in Poland by winning a Polish State scholarship. Akdemir, who worked as a European Union Specialist at Ankara University European Communities Research and Application Center (ATAUM) between 2004 and 2013, is still an Associate Professor Dr. at Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations. Erhan Akdemir is also the Chairman of the Board of Eskişehir European Union Association.

Asst. Prof. Aslı GEYLAN

Aslı GEYLAN graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 2007. She completed her PhD on “absorptive capacity in enterprises” at Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Management and Organisation. Since 2014, she has been working as a Lecturer at Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. She teaches courses and external trainings on Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Child Entrepreneurship and Creativity.

Nesrin KÖSELER

Advocacy, member relations, community building, youth and children’s rights, volunteer management, storytelling and nonviolent communication, transformative activism tools are among her fields of study. She has worked as a trainer and moderator with many non-governmental organisations, universities and international organisations in these fields. She works as a community and training coordinator in the European Union Sivil Düşün Programme. She has carried out multi-stakeholder and participatory field projects, volunteer management and advocacy activities at the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey, Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants-ASAM, Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Centre. She holds a BA and MA in International Relations and an MA on the role of civil society organisations in Turkey’s EU accession process. She believes that hope is one of the most valuable gifts given to people who work together for change and transformation, and that community stories can be multiplied by creating community and realising the power of community.

Assoc. Prof. Tezcan ÖZKAN KUTLU

Tezcan Özkan Kutlu completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Eskişehir. She graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Press and Broadcasting in 2003. She completed her master’s degree in Anadolu University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Press and Broadcasting in 2006. Özkan Kutlu, who started her doctorate program in the same department in 2006, completed her doctoral education in 2014 with her thesis titled “New Journalist Identity in the Context of New Communication Technologies” and was awarded the title of doctorate. Dr. Lecturer Tezcan Özkan Kutlu is still working at Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Press and Broadcasting. Her academic interests include; new communication technologies, new media studies, Internet and digital journalism, news verification, digital media literacy and new media sociology.

Assoc. Prof. Alaaddin Faruk PAKSOY

He graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences, Press and Broadcasting Department (major) and Cinema and Television department (second major) undergraduate programs. He completed his master’s degree in Communication Studies at Stockholm University. He received his PhD from the Department of Journalism Studies at the University of Sheffield. In his doctoral thesis, he examined how Turkey-European Union relations were presented in the UK media. His research in recent years has focused on the representations of Syrian refugees in the media and Turkish-Greek relations. He is still working at Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences.

Assoc. Prof. Duru ŞAHYAR AKDEMİR

After graduating from Ege University, Department of International Relations, Duru ŞAHYAR AKDEMİR received her master’s and doctorate degrees from Hacettepe University, Department of Human Rights. Duru Şahyar Akdemir, who has been working at Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics, Department of Political Science and Public Administration since 2016, studies and lectures on human rights, women’s rights, urban rights, political participation, and local democracy.
